Great Shoe –
I ordered this shoe for a beach vacation in Mexico. It is very comfortable and was great for a beach vacation. It would rub against my foot a little when I wore the shoe for long periods of time without socks. I think this was because I didn’t break them in at all but took them right on vacation. When they started to get uncomfortable, I’d wear socks with them for awhile and that would alleviate the discomfort. I also noticed that if you adjust the straps correctly and snugly, the shoe doesn’t rub against your foot. Plenty of room in the toe box, which is a MUST for me. Overall, this is a great shoe and I look forward to wearing it this summer!

The Keen Whisper is a great shoe. Very light and slimmer than my favorite Keen Newport. I have a narrow foot so it’s a little roomy but the lacing cinches up nicely for a comfortable fit. This is my new favorite Keen.

I just bought a pair of these. Last year I bought my first and only pair of Keens: the Napa boot – now discontinued. I love ’em! And wanted more Keens. I wasn’t exactly looking for sandals, but after an almost cigar pair of other style sandals, decided to try these on. I have wide feet and long little toes. They looked narrow and didn’t look like they’d have much arch support. Comparing them to the other style, they were a better overall fit. More straps and I am the kind who needs a shoe, boot or sandal that’s strapped on or I will lose it, or it will flop around, or I’ll slide off. I wasn’t 100% sure but when I found out the store only gets one pair of each size I knew I had to buy them or they’d be gone the first day the sun came out (yesterday). I am loving them! I’ve been wearing them indoors with socks instead of mocs or slippers. They seem to be providing more support than I expected, are soft and comfy, and very flexible. Sort of like a barefoot shoe if that makes any sense. “Whisper” is a perfect name for them. The acid test will be how much support they provide in the concrete jungle. Even if they aren’t good on concrete, they’ll get worn a lot. They’ll be my #1 sandal and my North Face ones will be downgraded. They smell anyway. These fit my wide “pancake” feet well. They make my feet look much longer and narrower than they are. When I look at them, it’s like my feet aren’t my feet, yet they feel almost like they are made for me. Before I bought them I realized that in the event that the heel is too loose (it isn’t specifically adjustable) a person could stitch a tuck in the ribbon that goes through the heel and thus tighten the back of the heel. What other kinds of shoes are “alterable” at home? They got me. Now… if they come in another colour I like and/or if I can get them on the internet (Zappos Canada doesn’t appear to sell Keens), I might buy another pair of them. They are keepers and, like other faves, will eventually wear out. Keen seems to change styles a lot. Cheers to happy summer feet.

Really comfortable. The back strap doesn’t rub at all. Easy to slip on, but not too easy to take off so it stays put. The toe cover is stiff enough that I don’t have to worry about stubbing my toe on rocks or drift wood. The sole is not flimsy at all; it’s pretty stiff – but not solid, which is perfect for wading around. They look great. Fit is between true to size to just a hair snug. I expect them to stretch out a bit once I have broken them in. Very happy!

I have another pair of Keens so I knew I had to order 1/2 size larger. They are light, cushy and fit perfect. Not quite so wide as my first pair, which is great for my narrow foot.

Love these sandals. I already had in another color and wanted a pair in red. This is a very deep berry red. As usual with Keen, I wear half size larger than other brand shoes. Lacing allows for adjusting to a perfect fit.

Ugly but perfect comfort for walking. They do not look attractive on my feet, but the comfort factor outweighs the style factor. I wear these to walk the dog and for travel, like walking through airports, etc. They felt tight the first time I put them on but have stretched and loosened up a bit but I can still snug them up with the elastic pull cord thingy.

I bought these for a 25-day trip to Thailand and wore them almost every day. They were fantastic! And my feet never hurt, despite all the walking (so much!), hiking (which included walking through small streams), and elephant riding. And they are very lightweight.

I can’t say enough great things about these shoes. I figured I would just wear them on bike rides and walks, but I wear them everywhere! They are so comfortable! I have bad back problems and these are the only shoes I have found that relieve my aches and pains! (All brands including Nike, etc don’t even do the job!) And I love that these shoes allow my feet to breathe since they get hot so easily! Very well made! But as everyone else said, they definitely run 1/2 size small!

As a long-time wearer of Keens, I find the Whisper to be up to its expected standards, although I wish the strap on the outside didn’t extend quite so high. It rubs both ankle bones. All in all, though, I highly recommend them.

I purchased these for a trip to the tropics where I need shoes that protect my toes, can be used for general walking around, and also can be used in water. They run about a half size too small. Once I received the proper size I found them to be very comfortable. I have feet that blister very easily and I was amazed that they didn’t hurt and I didn’t have to contend with any blisters or sore spots. Highly recommended if you need this type of footwear. Not beautiful, but fine for casual strolling in town or on the beach.

I absolutely love these shoes! I am a nurse and on my feet 24/7 so I am a fanatic about comfort and arch support. These shoes feel like you are walking on grass all the time. My feet do not sweat too bad so if this is an issue for someone that I do not have a strong opinion on if these shoes will offset that or not. I mostly love how feminine these shoes look. The actual shoe lining seemed a little more pink then I thought it looked in the picture but I have actually grown to like them more because of this. They really are a unique color that you will not see on other people’s feet very often. I truly think these make the perfect camping sandals. I was walking around in sand dunes all week and it was no problem to dump all the sand out at any time, I imagine if I had gotten them wet at the same time this would have been more difficult. The only drawback is style for I am not the type of person to wear these shoes to a nice restaurant or anything, I am sure that you could get away with it but I just do not think that is the function that these shoes should serve. Overall though these shoes are amazing and you will love them! I also felt that these shoes were maybe half a size smaller then what I am used to wearing. I usually am a size 8 and these felt like a 7½. But they are just so comfortable, that my feet do not hang over at all, and they make my feet look so cute that I figure I will just grow into them better the longer I have them. I hope this review/rant helps.

Love these! I resisted buying sport sandals because I thought they might be too goofy looking, but these are not only nice in appearance (I bought the Nile green/grey), they are so comfortable I don’t know how I’ve lived without them. Super lightweight and supportive, you can easily forget you’re wearing anything. Wore them on vacation hiking right out the box, no break-in period. For reference, I’m usually a 7 1/2, and while I could have gone with that size, the 8 offered a bit more wiggle room. I have a narrow foot, and these were easy to adjust to the correct fit.

I loved the color of these sandals. But the fit was dreadful. I normally wear either a 10½ (hard to find) or an 11 so I ordered an 11 to start with. They fit like skis – at least an inch of empty sandal beyond my toes. I am sure that I would have tripped if I had kept them and worn them. I then ordered a 10½. They were also long but not quite as long and extremely narrow. I could not even get the left sandal on because of the extremely narrow width. I have purchased and wear a different style of keen sandals and they are very comfortable. If you normally wear narrow width shoes, this style would probably be a good choice but order half a size smaller.

This was my second pair of these shoes. I wore the first pair as sandals in the summer and slippers in the winter, constantly, until the soles cracked. It took 2.5 years for that to happen. These are the best shoes — I can ride my bike in them, wear them with a casual skirt, get them wet without fear. The color of these blue ones is a little lighter than I thought it was going to be, but okay — sort of faded denim color. I said here that these have excellent arch support. I’m not sure that is true, but I started wearing them when I had a bad case of plantar fasciitis, and they were the only shoes that did not hurt my feet. They are definitely worth a try!

Woohoo! These are my Goldilocks Keens. I ordered five different styles. Sage Ankle and Sandals were simultaneously too closed (on the top) and too open and not foot-hugging (on the sides). Plus they both ran short. Venice H2? Too clunky, too wide. Venice? Suede. Too clunky and too heavy. Also ran short and that’s ran short for Keens, so more than a half size. Whisper? Soft on the foot. Open weave but supportive. Toe box only rubber-covered over the big toe and gray instead of black – makes a big difference in both look and toe ventilation. Also creates a cool, angled pattern. The black/gray is much more interesting than it looks in photos – ribbon detail lightens and adds texture. Runs both longer and narrower than others and yet lots of toe room. Although all styles are waterproof, this feels more like a water shoe you can scramble over rocks in, as opposed to the reverse. This was just what I wanted. And so – just right.

I have an old, old pair of Keen Venice that I was looking to replace. I decided to try these Whispers in magnet/sangria, and the color is great. The fit is more snug than my old Venice pair but still very comfortable and surprisingly gives me no trouble with my osteoarthritis. I tried a pair of new Venice H2 in the same size and they are too small whereas the Whispers are true to size. There’s no rubbing on the ankles, no break-in period, and I expect over time they will get more and more comfortable.
My only complaint is that my feet sweat a little in the heat. It’s been really hot lately.
If you like red like I do, get some Keens in Magnet/Sangria or another of the reds. You won’t be sorry!

I ordered this and the Newport by Keen. I am a standard size 8. Full disclosure, I read reviews and meant to order a half size bigger in this sandal but didn’t. I should have as it does run half size small. The 8.5 in the Newport felt perfect size wise. I presume these are comfortable given correct sizing. The one thing I personally liked about the Newport’s was there were less straps/coverage. So depending on your preference that may matter. I did really like the neutral color of the grey/blue/opal. For being a somewhat bulky sandal (just the overall style) it attracted less attention, which I appreciate. I have really high arches so I didn’t notice much support, but that’s to say nothing gives enough arch support for me; so take that with a grain of salt. I imagine if you had a normal arch they would provide some support.

I live in sport sandals in the summer. It was time to replace my 6-year-old pair of Keens that I wore out, and I couldn’t decide between these and some Chacos. I ordered both, and ultimately decided on these. I have a wide foot, and I was a little worried that they wouldn’t fit because Keen doesn’t make wide sizes. But, the Whisper is very adjustable, and they fit great. The day after I got, I wore them at a 4-day music festival with lots of walking up and down hills and in the mud, and they were perfect. They didn’t rub or cause any blisters (as new shoes usually do), were very comfortable, and provided lots of support and grip. I love them!

How have I lived and walked the earth for over 50 years shoes before finding these babies? I usually wear running sneakers or cushiony fit flops in summer for walking. Decided to splurge as these had great reviews and I needed another pair of more “rugged” shoes for an upcoming trip this summer. At first I over analyzed the reviews and ordered 1/2 size higher than my typical 7.5 as multiple reviews suggested that these were extremely narrow but I did not find this to be true. The 8’s were way too long. The 7.5s fit perfect on my marginally D width foot. I put these on out of the box in the house and it was as if they molded to my foot in all the right places…like a custom shoe. Regret not purchasing something like this years ago. They are lightweight, waterproof. Very happy with purchase.

I bought these and a pair of Merrel All Out Blaze Sieve to compare because I need “adventure” shoes that can get wet. These had much more of a sandal feel with the large cutouts, where the Merrel felt like a shoe-very few and smaller cutouts. These were more true to size and feel more comfortable walking in so the Merrels went back and I’ll use these for vacation.

Based on reviews and my previous experience with Keens, I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear and they fit perfectly. NO break in, I have been wearing these around straight from the box with no rubbing or discomfort. They are lightweight but supportive and sturdy. I normally wear Alegria clogs all day for my job, and these give me a good level of comfort and support that my feet are used to. Planning to bring these on a trip as water shoes/ light hiking and for kayaking. Extremely pleased, and the lavender is a great color!

I ordered these since I want a pair a half size larger than an old pair I have. The size 7 I have is bigger than this size 7.5. ??? What happened to wide comfortable Keens!?

I love Keen Whisper Sandals. This is my 6th or 7th pair over the years. I usually wear a 9.5 but ordered a 10 and am glad I did. I’d say this (lavender/pink) pair run about a half size short. Since I ordered up, they are perfect. Love the support and protected toe. Also, these Whisper sandals never make my feet too hot and sweaty.

I have had pairs of this shoe style over the years and love the way they fit and wear over time. This pair though was an odd fit for me in that my small outer toes stuck out from between the web straps and this made for an uncomfortable fit. Everything else about the shoe was great – just that gap in webbing did not suit my toes this time. Will return this pair.
