I need super good cushioning, a narrow heel, and easy to adjust shoes. These shoes are working out well, and felt good out of the box with no break in period. I would recommend them.

I bought these elsewhere but feel the need to review at my beloved Zappos: The tongue on this shoe is bizarrely long, coming up the front of the ankle, causing the shoe to bow out at the middle of the mouth of it with every step. The toe box is not roomy like the typical Keen. The shoe is long for its size, adding to the awkward bowing and bending and crimping with each step. Just a bad shoe, surprising for Keen. Something went wrong here. I gave them away.

I liked the style and narrowness of the shoe because I have a narrow foot. But I ordered about a 1/2 size to small. So sent them back and ordered a different size.

In a typical athletic shoe, I would ideally wear a 10 N. My feet are narrow and low volume. I ordered a 10 in these shoes and the width is perfect, so I would say they run narrow. The length of the right shoe is perfect, but my big toe hits the front of the left shoe. I need to exchange them, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed, because I am out of options.

I was looking for a winter-weather walking shoe and I couldn’t be more pleased. The first time out of the box, I took a long walk and felt a little rubbing along stitch lines in the collar of the shoe, but by the second day these were very comfortable. In other athletic shoes, I have needed to replace the sole insert with a more supportive insert, but these provided all the support I needed.

I really wanted these shoes to work, but there seemed to be something defective about the cushioning on the back of the heel on one shoe. Maybe it was a fluke but I didn’t try again because for the money they weren’t super comfy and the strings seemed like they wouldn’t last long.

Disappointed. My other keens were so much more comfortable.

I have a very difficult time getting hiking/walking shoes that fit (check the three pairs in my closet and the three I returned to Zappos, bless them for free returns). I have a standard to slightly narrow foot but have bunions, and that means I need a little extra room in the toe box but can’t have a wide shoe because the heel will slip.
I typically take a women’s size 11 and tried that first in the Terradora but they were just a fraction on the short side. So I ordered the 12 (no 11.5 available) and they turned out just right.
They were comfortable right out of the box except for a little stiffness in the medial forefoot (between big toe and first metatarsal) where they bend, but this eased up pretty quickly. I was concerned that the sides of the shoe (in the quarter) were a little high and might rub my ankle but that was not a problem.
First I wore them around the house all day, then today took a 4 mile walk (on sidewalks) with no discomfort.
The soles seem stable and thick enough for rougher ground but I haven’t tested that yet. Haven’t been caught in the rain to test waterproofing but did get a little splashing when I took the dog on the beach, and stayed dry. There’s no heel slip, and I have relatively narrow heels.
All in all these seem like a winner for me. Hope this review helps.

Not the traditional wide Keen toe box. Had to return.

Much narrower in toe box than other Keens.

I reviewed earlier, stating that the shoe laces were too short. They measure 40″ and definitely could use 45″. With that said, I contacted Keen for replacement laces. They linked me to a site where I could purchase laces, but none of them matched. The closest option was the quick tie ‘Lock-Laces’. They came in three colors, red, black, and gray, for $10. I found the laces for $3 less on Amazon. So, before installing the laces I decided to try to wear them around the house for a full day. I learned that thick socks were definitely out. Regular thickness socks were okay, but these socks would never be good enough for a hike. The shoes are going back. What I wonder is, when did Keen shoes get so narrow? I compared these to shoes to other Keen’s and wow, what a difference in the width. I’m sorry to return these because the arch support is EXCELLENT and normally, that is the reason I return shoes. In fact, if anyone can recommend a shoe with excellent arch support – please let me know – because I’ve returned the last 7 pairs of shoes that I’ve purchased. With that said THANK YOU ZAPPOS for your ongoing excellent customer service.

The toe box is too small and the heel to wide. I normally wear AA or Narrow. Not enough arch support.

Great

Nice looking shoes but I should have listened to the reviews saying how narrow they are. I am normally a 9.5, but these are definitely 9.5N, even if not marked as such. They are far too tight for me in the toe box. I’ll be returning.

I love Keen boots and these are wonderful. They are a bit smaller so I had to go a size up. Very comfortable, great arch support. I hope they are waterproof but Keen is usually true to their word.

Felt like a good quality shoe… my toe was touching the top with a size 11. Usually size 11 is a little too big.

Well made shoe that’s flattering!. Looking down at my feet, the shoe’s profile is slimmer than most shoes of this style!

In the search for a pair of low-top waterproof shoes to wear on my dog walks in the rainy PNW, I ordered several different brands to try, and these were the winners. I have tricky feet–bunions, high arch, plantar fasciitis, narrow heel. Finding shoes to fit my triangular foot without pain is difficult. Finding attractive, functional shoes that fit all of my requirements is almost impossible. I like that these have a streamlined sneaker look, as opposed to clunky low-top boots–I could wear them with almost any casual outfit and they would look fine. The arch support is moderate, heel is cushy, and there is room at the top of the shoe for my high arch. The toe box is just wide enough that my toes aren’t pinched. They feel good on my feet, but I did notice that my bunions got a little achy on the first walk I wore them on (1.5 miles). I am hoping after a break in period they will soften up and feel a little better. I haven’t had the chance to get them soaked yet, but on a damp walk my feet stayed dry. Overall, these are good-looking, functional shoes for my weird feet.

My mom love this shoes for walking near the river on dirt and stones, love the color, very good grip, its not posible to apreciate the real color in the photographs, but its really nice, Shes planing to buy the same model in another color. The heel was a bit sore at first, but a slight, gentle adjustment with a hammer was enough.

I love these shoes! I have a lot of trouble with my feet and these are the first shoes in the last 30 years that don’t hurt my toes after walking for a while (under the toes). I cannot wear any other athletic shoes. I walk in these shoes for 45-50 minutes every morning and then I wear them all day long. Full disclosure, I do wear a custom orthotic instead of the insole, but even with my custom orthotic, I can’t wear other brands of athletic shoes. I wear these with Thorlo walking socks and they are very comfortable. I bought a size 11 as I figured I’d need the room with socks, and that’s a good size. As an aside, I also like the Keen Whisper sandals for summer (size 10.5). I think these shoes probably are pretty true to size. I don’t have an especially wide foot–probably medium width. I also wear the laces so they allow me to slip the shoes on and I don’t have to tie them every time I wear them.

Should have listened to reviews. The toe box and mid section of the shoe are too narrow.

Great shoes. I have a pretty extreme case of plantar fasciitis so I put my own insert in the shoe, but it fit great still.
Dan –
My wife loves them! She says they are very comfy while giving support. The extra grip and waterproofing comes in handy on the trail.
Sandy –
I think these shoes are adorable and great for hiking. I found them too heavy and not cushioned enough for a lot of daytime walking. I sent them back but really wish I could have kept them!

Ordered a half size larger than my normal and it was a good fit. Didn’t have a chance to break them in before our hiking and had no issues.
