I got these for my husband for winter. He ended up liking the green in person. You can never go wrong with Keens!

bought these for my husband who is very picky, for an upcoming hunting/fishing trip…he loves them…the trip is a month away, but he’s worn them everyday – they are so comfortable! just what he was looking for!

A longtime Keen fan with wide feet, I’ve had trouble getting the Targhee to fit me in women’s sizes, where I take a 9.5 So, knowing Targhees run small and narrow in women’s sizes, I decided to try a men’s 9 (a half size up from my usual men’s 8.5) Bingo! The men’s Targhee II Waterproof is just the thing for me. The extra-wide men’s toebox gives me all the room I need, so I never have to hear from that damaged right metacarpal joint. And going down steep inclines, my toes don’t hit in front. I outfit every shoe with ProFoot insoles from the get-go, which helps to offset Keen’s moderate arch support and ups the comfort level for my recurring plantar fasciitis. This is a beautiful boot for either sex in Junebug/Beluga, a dark teal with charcoal gray Nubuck trim. I love splashing right through shallow streams without a thought in this super-sturdy boot. A minimum hike for me is four miles. These are comfortable right out of the box, no break-in required–just another thing to love about Keen’s. No wonder my closet is so thoroughly dominated by my favorite brand. Just wanted to encourage wide-footed women to cross over to the guy’s side for greater comfort and better fit!

I’ve owned other keen shoes before and they were great. This is the first pair of ”boots” from keen I’ve ordered. They are fantastic. They are comfortable right out of the box. The best part is they are very easy to put on and off. They do run a half size small in my opinion so order a half size up. Very satisfied.

Prior to purchasing this shoe, I’ve worn various Keen size 13 shoes and boots over six years, to include the boots Keen Briggs Mid WP, Keen Siskiyou Mid WP, and Keen Oregon PCT.
I’ve had no trouble with the Briggs, but it’s past time for me to let them go because of sole wear. And I don’t remember size troubles with the previous two boots listed above.
However this Keen Targhee II Mid Waterproof boot definitely seems too short for a Keen size 13, compared to my previous purchases. With these, my custom inserts curl up in front, and therefore my toes do not have enough space.
These boots have nice outer foot raised, cushioned support, which would be interesting to try over the long-term were they not too short. I sometimes roll my feet outward while walking, and the “push-back” might correct this tendency. Too bad I don’t see 13.5 as an option.

These are the first boots I’ve owned that were comfortable out of the box. I think my foot is naturally a 9.5 so I ordered a 10 and they are perfect. The toe box is roomy for foot swelling. They are definitely waterproof and great for wet hikes & stream crossings.

I love Keens, however the Targhee II Mid Waterproof is not, and was not waterproof from day one. Heavy dew alone will ensure that your socks are wet after an hour’s walk. And that’s even with gaitors! Tough, comfortable, good looking, but definitely not waterproof.

Bought these for my husband and they worked great for hiking and fieldwork, but unfortunately they started to fall apart without much wear. Disappointing because of the cost and that they seemed perfect. We had to return, but Zappos customer service was awesome and the return was processed quickly.

Very comfortable boot but after 9 months glue holding the outer soles is failing on both boots. Also waterproofing is failing. Water seeps into toe box. Overall very comfortable boot but not durable.

I really liked these shoes a lot. But I can’t recommend them. Yes, they look and felt good; they were waterproof. Good for travel and hiking.
Unfortunately the seam split on the front toe between the upper and the sole. This is the first time I have had this problem with Keens. Too bad it happened after 10 months and Zappos couldn’t / wouldn’t replace them.

These don’t require much breaking in which is great. Definitely order a half size up as suggested. I ordered my regular size and half size bigger to see which felt best, and the half size up definitely has the best fit.

Great hiking boot. Not too clunky. Definitely order a half size up.

I have owned several pairs of Keen shoes, both hiking and casual. These do run a full size smaller. I tried ordering just half a size up, but had to return them for a full size up. Other than that they seem to be great boots so far, but I haven’t worn them much. And as always, Zappos somehow magically gets each order to me in less than 24 hours!
RBTill –
As advertised, the boot runs small. I needed one (1) full size larger than my dress shoes to get adequate room in the toe box. Width was spot on. Good support; have only used on a limited basis to date.
Pleasantly surprised in that they are lighter weight than I expected.

I have been wearing Keen Targhees for a 7-8 years and have purchased all from either Zappos or Amazon. I typically hike 10-11 miles every Saturday and 6-9 on Sunday. Purchased 4 pair and received last week. Wore first pair Saturday and Sunday and left sole ached. There is a molding flaw (for those familiar with mfg – hiking shoe soles are typically injection molded) that creates a low spot in the left sole around the middle of the front pad – almost a crease where the die had worn. I’ll be returning all four pair.

I bought a brand that was twice as much and returned them for these. Best bang for your buck!

My husband and son both live in these boots in the winter. Super comfortable and useful for work or leisure.
