Great Fit –
I have been waiting for these shoes to be re-introduced for 6 months – and they’re worth the wait. Typically I take a size 9 in Keen sandals; in the boot, I take a size 9.5 Arch hits me just right – good toe room – very comfortable.

Keen’s does it again –
Put them on for the first time today. Hiked about 3 hours in a lot of roots and rocks. Then, it rained. Result no foot hot spots or fatigue. Looked great and felt great. The width of the toe box allows your toes to go to the edge of the toes without toe bang. No slipping. No tightness over the arch. I’m going to order another pair now.

The most comfortable light hikers I’ve ever owned –
These are just awesome for day hiking, and maybe even more. Very comfortable.
They do run very small. I normally wear an 8 in most shoes and an 8.5 in my other Keens, but in this boot I had to go all the way up to a 9. So keep that in mind when you order.

Awesome boot –
Comfort and stability in this boot. Love it!! Pay attention to the posts that tell you to order at least a half size larger. If you want to wear heavy socks, I’d definitely try a full size larger. Width is true but the length is not. My 4th pair of Keens and the Growler is next for winter!

Great day hiker with good looks too!
This shoe felt great right out of the box. With this shoe, like other Keens, I sized up 1/2 size. I broke them in the very same day with a four mile morning hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains. These shoes stood up to slippery mud, and were easy to clean afterwards. No blisters or pinching, and they’re fairly lightweight. Good arch support, and the footbed keeps my feet and ankles really stable. My favorite features are the padded tongue that is quite breathable, and the lace grabbers at top that keep my laces totally secure so I don’t have to over-compensate with double-knots. I haven’t worn them on a very long day hike yet, but I feel confident they’ll stand up to many more miles. They also look and feel great for casual wear with jeans.

AMAZING BOOT!!!
I love this boot! I wore it for the first time today in ice and snow and it was perfect. My feet stayed warm and dry, and I had great traction and ankle support. The styling is quite groovy and construction seems pretty good. Arch support is good. I did order a half size larger than usual (thanks to other reviews) and am very happy I did. If you need some day hikers, buy these!

Great boots –
I love these boots! I normally wear a 7 in regular shoes, and I bought a 7.5 in these. They probably would fit better in an 8, so keep that in mind when buying. Otherwise they are super comfortable and definitely stylish.

Great hiking shoe –
Bought these for a trip to Park City, UT.
Kept my feet very warm and dry while trudging through the snow. Wore them with thick/wool socks. Could have used a 1/2 size bigger, but they were comfortable right out from the box.

Great Hiking Shoe –
Great hiking shoe. I read what others’ wrote, and ordered a half size larger and it was perfect. I was glad to see that many others were serious hikers and wore the shoes to many outings.

I’ve worn Keen shoes for years because I love their roomy toe boxes and how well they accommodate my high arches. When I needed waterproof boots for a hiking trip I ordered a pair of Targhee IIs believing they would fit like the rest of my Keens. Not so! Everything about these boots was too narrow and too low. I exchanged them for a larger pair but they were merely longer, not wider or higher. I finally had to go with a men’s boot to get that familiar, oh-so-comfy Keen fit. If you’re used to wearing old school women’s Keens, these boots may not work for you.

True to size, but rub my boney ankles fiercely.

Following the other reviews, I bought this a half size up from what I usually wear. I was a bit nervous about this, because at first the shoes felt too big. But I wore them with hiking socks, and after a day of hiking my feet swelled a little bit, they were perfect and I knew I picked the right size and the right size. So order at least half a size up.

Love these boots. Lightweight and sturdy; however, I usually wear a 7 1/2 and these were short and I ordered the 8. I might have been better off with the 8 1/2. Still love them.

I was in the market for a new pair of hikers. I hike occasionally but need a sturdy yet comfortable boot. This boot was recommended by two female park rangers. They wear them daily to work in. I have worn them several times to hike and they required zero breaking in and wear comfortably.

Perhaps I got a bum pair of these, judging from all the other reviews. I did find a review of the mens version that echoes my concerns, however. I have been a Keen customer for many years now, and I have loved every shoe and boot I have purchased. These boots are characteristically comfortable and attractive, but a good hiker they are not, unless conditions are perfectly dry. I found right away that if I stepped on even a slightly wet sidewalk, the ground started to slide beneath my feet. Forget about a wet rock or wet steep spot. They are still relatively new, so I thought that maybe the soles needed to be broken in a bit to wear off the smooth bottom. But today I sit here with an ice pack on my knee having just slipped on a rough small patch of ice that any other boots I own would have handled with ease. I live on the side of a mountain, so am no rookie at this. I consider these boots to be dangerous, and am questioning whether or not I should ever go for another pair of Keens, even shoes, if the soles are now going to be like this. Did they change materials for the soles? If so, bad idea.

I got these boots to walk my dog in boggy weather and they are so comfortable I bought a second pair as a spare for when/if these wear out. Great in snow and rain, and with Yak-Trax on them can even handle ice.

I am vry pleased with these shoes and I did not get blisters the first time out which was a four hour hike.

I love these boots. I went a half size up and the fit was perfect. There was no breaking-in time at all; I wore them on a 7-mile hike right after I got them and my feet were completely comfortable up and down the mountain trails. Thanks to small bunions I have trouble finding shoes that don’t hurt, but these let me forget the bunions are there at all. Wish I could wear them with everything.

I have had these boots for two years now. They are very light and pretty waterproof if you are wandering in tall grass and mud. They are the most comfortable boots that I have and I have narrow feet. The only problem that I have with them is wet rocks. These boots will slide on wet rocks. On the other hand, if you are climbing up a steep mud slope (as I have often done), these boots will grip like no other. I did order half a size larger than normal. Usually I am a 7½ and I ordered an 8. They are still snug but I have never gotten blisters on the multiple hikes that I have done. I have heard Keens are good for wide feet but they are comfortable for us narrow footed humans too.

I absolutely love these Keen boots and I am very much satisfied with this purchase! I decided to buy these boots for work because I do tons of walking at the hospital and every other shoe that I have bought (Dansko, Alegria, Salomon, Merrell, etc) broke down within half a year! These boots did not need to be broken in, and is so comfortable for all day use. No blisters, no sore feet, and has tremendous amount of shock absorbent, too! I have wide feet, and these boots fit perfectly. I highly recommend these Keen boots!

I wore my Keen Targhee II last summer when I walked 550 miles in Spain doing the Camino de Santiago. They held perfectly for the 30 days plus of hiking in all kinds of terrain. I wore a whole size up of my regular shoes size with Smartwool PhD Outdoor medium cushion socks and Compeed anti shaft stick. I did not get one single blister!
These Keen were sturdy yet extremely comfortable, waterproof but breathable. They hugged and protected my feet.
I had them for almost 10 years and the Camino was their last adventure. I was sad to part ways.
I have tried other brands, but for wide feet like mine, Keen is superb!

Hiked 11 miles the first day in these, with great comfort! I don’t have wide feet but when it comes to hiking at mile 7 the little toe needs some room!! These expand out in the toe box perfectly for this need WHEN needed. The next hike, 56 miles in Yosemite over five days…I fell in love with these boots!!! Also saw them on two other gals on the same trail!!!! ?????

I LOVED these shoes– in the past. When I looked down and realized my shoe was falling apart, I immediately went to order another pair, as the fit (I need a wide toe box, and these shoes have been excellent for that). Then I realized that, although the first pair lasted for two years of heavy hiking, this last pair had lasted less than a year– and, as I’d had hip problems, I’d done very little hiking during that time. Zappos person was very nice, and said that with normal wear and tear, shoes are expected to last…six months. … The rip was on the side of the foot, not the bottom, so with normal wear and tear they just…disintegrate, I guess? I figured it was just my wanting things to last forever– phones, computers, etc., and ordered another pair, as they were just the right fit for my foot. BUT, when I got the shoes– they were obviously narrower than in the past. I thought, maybe they sent the wrong shoe? Nope. Same size as always. I thought perhaps it’s just my eyes? So, I got out a ruler, and tape, and measured across the widest part. It was 1/4″ smaller on the new shoe. I am broken hearted. I live far, far away from the nearest shoe store, and I am hoping, with my hip healed, to do more hiking– but 140 bucks for a shoe that is only expected to last six months? And a shoe that is apparently being made to save some money, now, by reducing the size? … I’m not sure what my next move will be. Zappos has always been awesome to deal with, but if the quality is this bad, I can’t afford to keep buying these… 🙁

I love these boots…I use them to do weed whacking on sloping ground. The tread has excellent grip and the toe box is nice and wide. I wear them for hours working and they still stay comfortable and my feet always remain dry in wet situations!
