Amy –
I love these hiking boots! I’ve been out in muddy, wet, cold conditions and my feet stayed warm and dry. They fit perfect and run true to size. I highly recommend!
Annette –
This is my second pair of these boots, which I use almost daily for walking/hiking. They are so true to my fit I can start using them right out of the box. No wonder they are so hard to keep in stock!
Ann –
The hiking oots fit well right out of the box without a need for breaking in. They look and feel great. I have been wearing them hiking in the rain and they have mostly kept my feet dry.
Kristine –
Great boot, comfortable and waterproof. Wide toe box so plenty of room when walking or hiking. My daughter is an 8.5 and the size 9 was perfect.

they were perfect – love them no breaking in

These boots fit true to size-I just wouldn’t be able to wear heavier socks with them. I would probably be fine if they offered a wide width.
Amy –
My first experience with Keen were lower hiking shoes – which I bought for my trip to Ireland in 2019. They’ve held up well and are super comfy – so I decided to buy a boot style for that in-between weather, where it’s not cold enough to warrant my Uggs, but I still need something more substantial. I was so pleased that these boots were comfortable right out of the box, no break in period. I did buy a half size up based on my older pair (10.5), my feet feel great in them.

These hiking boots are heavenly! They are replacing a pair that is now nearly 10 years old. I’ve been very reluctant to give up the old ones as they have taken me many comfortable long walks through woods, snow covered mountains, desserts and jungles. I’m delighted that the new pair feels just like the old pair right our of the box.

The shoes themselves are comfortable but I am returning them because they press above my ankle, even when I tie laces loose.

Lovely comfortable hikers, but right boot dug into my ankle and I couldn’t make it pain free. Maybe just an off pair, but back to looking for the perfect pair

These Keens aren’t made well like my old pair. I ordered one pair in my size and they came with a defect in one of the shoes on the inside – they have a protruding piece of material into the end of the toe area which is very uncomfortable just to try on, so I can’t imagine trying to wear them! The other shoe has a visual defect on the top of the shoe where the gray material is – it’s creased. So I ordered another pair in my size and unbelievably, that pair had the exact same issue but on the opposite side – one shoe with a protruding piece of material in the end of the toe box inside, and the other with a crease on the top of the shoe on the outside gray area! I couldn’t believe it. What poor craftsmanship!! I love the look of the shoe and the fit otherwise, so I decided to keep the pair with the crease on the outside of the shoe rather than the defect on the inside which would leave them unwearable. I may call and see if they will discount the shoes b/c clearly the quality control is just not present right now.

I bought these to replace my several-year-old Keens, the most comfortable hiking boots I’ve ever had. Not even close. These new ones are shorter – my toes bump the end, though the size is the same. The insole buckled up as though it was too large for the boot. But more importantly, this new version was incredibly stiff and uncomfortable. No way could I walk for hours in them. Not even close to my first pair. Sending them back.

I’m normally a 10! I ordered and kept the 10 but think a 9.5 would have been better. Super comfy. Sadly found the same ones at DSW for $30 less. Oh well!

I was hoping to love these because they are lightweight, I love the gray, they are low-profile and functional without a lot of extra material or decoration. I need something like Keens because of a wide forefoot. However, the front interior has a bumpy seam on the outer side that rubbed against my small toe. Perhaps if my foot was narrower it wouldn’t have been a problem, but I don’t recommend for anyone who typically wears classic Keens or Altras. I tried the next half-size up but it was too long. I tried almost every Keen and found the best fit for me was the Ridgeflex, which fits like the Targhee II but has a lower heel drop.

I’ve long ordered Keen hiking boots because of a good fit I can depend on, and because of the quality of the materials and workmanship. As usual, these boots did not disappoint.

Love these boots!
didn’t want to take them off-
went on a 4 hour hike- they turned out perfectly-

Wish these had the old style Keen toe box. I just found these too narrow for what I wanted. If they feet your feet width wise though they felt sturdy.

Now this is the weirdest thing …
I purchased two pairs of these a couple of months ago in size 9.5 in color brown and grey, made in Thailand. Both fit the same.
After wearing the boots all summer long and loving them, I decided to get a couple more (since I fear they will be discontinued and finding good hiking boots is always difficult for me) and bought a grey pair which is now made in India. The boots, size 9.5 fit well, but were a tiny bit roomier (wider and longer) than the ones previously purchased. I liked the improvement and decided to get them in the new brown color as well. The brown ones (made in India as well) however felt too big. I held them up right against the newly purchased grey ones and my older ones, and they are visibly longer and wider. I then purchased a size 9 in color brown which fit almost exactly like the grey color in size 9.5. I say “almost”, because there is a tiny bit more length in the grey one, maybe 1/16″, but in width they are the same. In both I have to wear thicker socks than in the ones made in Thailand from previous purchases.
I am baffled, but maybe this difference in sizing across colors is normal? I understand when they switch the factory that things change a bit, but I am really surprised that there’s such a big difference between colors as well. That now means that I can’t just buy a boot I think I know well. I always have to order several sizes even across colors to make sure I get the right fit. Never had that problem with Keens before, but maybe I was just lucky.
Other than the size problem, these boots are wonderful. I have plantar fasciitis and heel spurs and with the right insoles (I am using the Keen K-30 insoles) there’s almost no pain and I can hike for hours.
The ones made in India seem to also be made better. When I purchased my previous pairs (made in Thailand) I had to return several pairs for manufacturing defects (mostly the sole was not completely glued to the shoe) until settling for the boots with the least problems as none were perfect. These newer ones made in India however, not one was in any way flawed or looked like it would fall apart. And all together I tried 4 different pairs, before deciding to keep two.
Love them, recommend them, but beware that size may vary across colors and manufacturers.
