Steve –
Too wide. Not enough support for full day working in the field
AlanR –
I’m flat footed and these offer good support without being overbearing. It is a stable shoe meaning I can’t easily rock my foot from side to side and feel like I am going to misstep and fall over while wearing. The quality of Keen is evident in this shoe – no problems with that! My only gripe is that the rubber bellows is a solid bit of rubber, that means my feet feel a little more warm that I would like during hot days. Its March in TX right now so there’s a breeze and my feet already feel warm wearing these- in 104deg heat these are going to be quite hot. I would say these will be warmer than is comfortable under the sun. We’ll see- but if I feel it now in 60deg I’ll certainly feel it under the summer sun. Leather probably breathes easier.

The width is the best.

this is the second time I purchased these. the first time was when they first came out. I returned them. they felt too short and toe box not as wide as my other Keens. I’ve had at least a dozen pair. I decided to give them a try again. this time they were the charm. pretty much fit like older Keens. lots of toe room and stable
Edwin –
very happy because they support and feel come from the first time worn
CMC –
The wide sizes are great for wide feet! Toe box is so comfortable!

My partner bought some Keen hiking boots recently from Zappos, and had to do a bunch of exchanges to get the right style and size for her feet. So, imagine my surprise when I got the exact right style and size on the first try. I did have to do one exchange, due to a manufacturing flaw that left an uncomfortable bump on the side of the tongue gusset. But the replacement pair is great. They’re nice and lightweight, feel nice and sturdy with a good tread, and they seem to breathe nicely on hot days.

Fit and comfort are great. Primrose color is distracting. Very bright. If that’s not your style, consider another one of the choices.

Fit was on point, comfort seems a bit lacking but all in all im happy with them

They feel like well made shoes. I have wide feet so finding shoes that fit well can be challenging. These fit although will need a little breaking in.
For hiking shoes, the quality of the sole is critical – will they last? My previous shoes failed showing excessive wear and disintegration at the sole after only 6 months and about 400 miles of use.. These Keens were about twice the price so I look for significantly better durability, although the design and materials of the sole seem very similar to my old ones.. so I’m skeptical at this point… Ask me in 6 months…

Fits well, quite comfortable and light

You can’t go wrong with Keen! This is my 5th pair of Keens over the last 15 years. I swear by them. They are comfortable, stylish, functionable and long lasting. I still have all 5 pair.

It was high quality.

Having owned several pairs of Targhee III, I was a little hesitant to try something new. I am definitely glad that I did. The flex ridges definitely improve the break-in time for these shoes and I have been very happy with the comfort right out of the box. The black color is great, they are my go-to bad weather sneaker now. I may get another color to use for actual hiking next summer.

Very comfortable.

Most waterproof boots are big, bulky and ugly. These are perfect for the winter to wear everyday.
Richard –
These were comfortable like all my other keens. The rubber section on top between the laces and the toe fell apart within a week. My feet get wet in that area pretty frequently but I just won’t buy this model again. Still love keens though.

This is my first time buying Keens, I was hopeful. I ordered my exact size. The shoe runs small so I exchanged it for 1/2 size larger. I have a wide foot and was surprised of the amount of room even though it wasn’t available in wide with. No break-in required. This shoe is a home run for me.

Incredible comfortable.

Fantastic. Wore them literally right out of the box for a 34 mile backpacking trip along the AT in the Smoky Mountains. Even though I’d been having foot problems for months leading up to this trip – bunion, callouses, and a mildly torn tendon in my ankle causing foot pain – I had no troubles on this trip. Feet felt better than ever. No regrets. I bought them because I love the wide toe beds Keen has, and these didn’t disappoint. I’d bought and tried on several different brands of hiking shoe before this (including one that is top ranked in all the hiking enthusiast websites) and found them all incredibly narrow and tight and stiff, even though I have a medium width foot. Sent them all back. In addition to the comfort, these are nice looking, incredibly rugged and the waterproofing was great. We hit some heavy rain and the trails were flowing streams in some places – except for where the rain came in the opening of the shoe around my ankles, had no water get in (a number of thru-hikers on the trail wore gators around their ankles – good idea.) The one caveat I will note is that if anything they seemed cut just a bit on the large side for my size, but with some thick hiking socks, they were perfect. Anyway, better than too small like the others I tried. I definitely recommend.

So I returned these because they are pretty similar to my Targee III. I was hoping for lighter and thinner and they really were not.
Super comfortable as usual, Love Keens
Mike –
These are very comfortable and I really like the flex. I do not feel like I need to break them in. My only concern is for the soft, ribbed rubber just below the shoe strings. It seems to be made from a rather thin rubber, so I wonder how well it will hold up over time.

Very nice shoes great price fast service thanks.
Roger –
Very comfortable right out of the box.
Christopher –
Good fit and feel while walking in new about house. I’m not sure how long the corrugated rubber between laces and toes will last with sun/ozone exposure, so I’m returning these. I know how to maintain leather goods to keep waterproof; I would not know how to repair cracks in this rubber or if it would impact waterproofness.
