I recently purchased a pair of Keen Pyrenees hiking boots. I have had bad luck with hiking boots for years probably due to the fact that I wear a size 15 B. I am a big guy (6\’3" 250lbs) and have worn 3 different styles of Vasque, several styles of Merrill, and several styles of Nike. I have purchased and sent back at least 10 different other brands of boots and sent them all back immediately because they didn\’t fit. I have enjoyed backpacking and hiking for years, but every time I go I can plan on blisters that cover both heals that develop within hours. So in my quest for any boot that will work I decided I would try this style of Keens. I bought them a few days before we left for a 4 day backpack trip. I figured it didn\’t matter if I bought and wore a new pair of boots on a backpack trip since I would surely get blisters. So out of the box the boots fit well, they were true to length, as opposed to a previous pair of Keen size 15 hiking boots that were too short for size 15. I wore them around the house one day and they were very comfortable and no sign of blisters, but I figured the mechanics walking and pressure spots would change with the weight of a backpack. So I headed out with a 40lb backpack and hiked in 6 miles for some mountain lake fishing. When I arrived my feet felt pretty good. I took off my boots and to my surprise – not even any hotspots! I wore the boots for 4 days straight and had no blisters for the first time in 30 years! Not even any hotspots! At least this style of boot fits my foot well and I plan to buy several pairs more to last me for years to come. Thanks Keen!

I am a big fan of Keen shoes/boots and love the fact that they now offer a growing selection in Size 15 to make up for the mysterious shrinkage their Size 14’s. I jumped on the Pyrenees because it is actually a real black boot, in comparison to the shades of Keen grey colors which look green in person. The Pyrenees comes with two sets of nice laces, one pair black, the other red (for a traditional hiking boot look.) Even in a Size 15, they were very lightweight. However, I doubt they would be appropriate for serious mountain hikers. I would think they would be perfect for light trails and they still feel very rugged. I actually prefer a boot with this type of last because they are extremely comfortable and do not feel as stiff as a “real” hiking boot. The deal breaker for me was the height of the ankle of the Pyrenees. Unlike the 3/4 height of most of the other boots they make, these are a full, high-top boot. I really wanted to keep them but the top, back part of the ankle came up too high and rubbed me the wrong way when trying them on in the house.

Awesome! Loved the shoes, service and quick shipping! I was in a Christmas jam and could only find the shoes online at Zappos – it was the 21st and I got them on the 23rd!

This is a great shoe. It’s just about broken in right out of the box. I’ve worn it outdoors for extended periods during near freezing temps, and never had any problem with my feet being cold.
They’re also comfortable in warmer temps too. I wear them just about every day.

Arch support was great, like Keen sandals and shoes I’ve owned before. However, I had to return these boots because the gusset design made it too difficult to put on, and the cuffs chafed at the shins.

I work at a Ski Mountain in Vermont on the weekends doing Valet Parking where not only do we run up to 5 miles a day but the temperature also drops well below zero on a regular occurance. These boots not only stay dry and warm but also keep my feet feeling comfortable even 10 hours into my day. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a light weight hiking boot that can take a beating.

Great shoes: very comfortable, easier to tie than many boots (if still not really easy), warm, good traction. I’ve had bad luck with Keen boots but kept trying because their shoes are great, and finally that perseverance was rewarded.

How often do you buy a pair of boots and have four different people comment on how cool they look. These boots are great looking as well as extremely warm and comfortable. They are worth every penny. I have never been disappointed with Keen products. Mike

My teenage son loves these boots. It can be hard to find good quality boots in small men’s sizes but these fit him great (no blisters or discomfort on a 10-mile hike) and are well-constructed. As always, the Zappos service was awesome: the boots arrived two days after we placed the order.

Tough, comfortable and have a great look. I can’t ask much more from a boot. I use them for everything from hiking to hunting. I couldn’t be happier with them.

My husband bought these boots because he needed a firm sole and bigger toe box. He liked this boot a lot. It looks cool and well made.

I am a woman size 10 wide or double wide. I usually don’t like buying mens shoes but these boots have been great for me. They have lots of width in the toe area and are supportive and sturdy. Finally I can hike four or more miles and not have any foot complaints. I like them so much I bought a pair to have in reserve. I also think the all black style is attractive for a hiking shoe.

These boots are awesome. I have 2 pairs and love them both. I where them for work and play both. So comfortable and depending on socks worn with them, they can be cool or warm, and nothing beats waterproof when you live in Wisconsin. Like all my Keens would recommend them to everyone. If you buy these you are in for a treat!

This is the second pair of Keen Pyrenees he has had. He is really rough on his work shoes, but is all for the most comfort he can find because he is in them sometimes 18 hours a day. I have washed these boots in the washer and they turned out like new! He really loves these Keens!

Have yet to test on the trail but have worn them 3 full work days and they feel awesome. Can’t wait for the snow to melt in the mountains of CO. where I live. Toe box is large, feels true to size.

I love these boots. They are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Usually when I wear boots, I end up with a rash on my calf, but with these, I have had a rash only the 1st time I wore them, after that, nada. The boots fit like they are a half size larger, but I need that because I tend to wear thicker socks with boots (just out of habit) so these fit perfectly.

Best heavy duty hiking boots that I have ever owned. First they are light, second they have plenty of toe room and fit well enough to allow heavy socks.

I received the Voyager shoe and have worn those for 3 years – love them – but I could not get this Pyrenees boot on due to my high arches so I’m sending it back — thanks.

Laces easily. Few seams so less places to tear. Rubberized toe gives great protection. I wanted Vibram soles but turns out these ones were awesome. Bridge and ankle support are excellent. Tested waterproof equals an A+, better than my Merrills. Lightweight for what they are but very sturdy. Wouldn’t recommend if you want something that breathes a lot.

Not at all too heavy, these boots seem like they’re going to last quite a while. They’re quite warm, owing to their waterproofing I suppose. The ankle area took a few days to break in. The tread is nice & tough. I took a 12 mile hike in them after the first week and my feet felt just fine.

The lightest size 15 boots I’ve ever owned! I wear these 10 hours a day at work, super comfortable, after the initial breaking in period. My third pair of Keens and as always top notch quality.

The Pyrenees boot by Keen is not a heavy duty hiking boot. It is just way too soft and not very supportive. Comfortable, but soft and flexible I would want to stay on paved paths only with this boot. Something off with the tongue on this one too as it bunches up and causes a little discomfort on the front of my ankle. I’m guessing that this may have worked itself out with a little break in. But I returned these for a boot more suited to heavier work and uneven terrain. Thanks to Zappos again for flawless service.

My husband works a lot, and he always complains about his feet hurting. Finally, he is pain free. Thank you Keen!

Very short break-in time, wide box toe like my other Keen’s. Great for everyday winter walking and hiking on moderate terrain.

I’m a 6′ tall woman who usually wears a woman’s 11, but after trying out several pairs of woman’s Keens and returning them (thank you, Zappos) because their largest size was just a bit too small, I went for the man’s equivalent a half size up of what I would normally wear. Perfect fit! All the Keens I sampled were extremely comfortable and this boot is no exception. The only things I might point out to other potential buyers is that the green/grey color is a tad bit more greyish than what it looks like in the picture. Also, the tongue fits a little awkwardly (and looks ugly) at first but has settled in nicely as I’ve worn it in. Overall I’m extremely happy with this boot!
