I wanted this shoe to work more than the Newport H2 since it was more breathable. I had purchased the H2 and the NEO in a size 10 (both shown in picture) and the Neo was visually a full size bigger than the Newport H2. I reordered the Neo in a size down, 9, and it looked to be the same size as the Newport size 10. However, it still didn’t work for us. Both the H2 and the Neo have an opening that is too small to get my son’s chubby feet into. Once the foot is in, it seems like there isn’t enough velcro strap to secure it well, although his foot does have enough room in the toe area.

We love Keens! We have several pairs for our boys that we’ve passed down to our youngest. These shoes are one of my favorite “adventure” sandals.

These are great – this is probably the 6th or 7th pair of Newports I’ve gotten between my son and daughter. They seem to run a little wide in the toes, but no complaints from the kids or any problems running around in them. We wear them every wear in the summer – errands, the beach, daycare (which bans flip flops and open toes, so something sturdy like this is required for water play days). They generally hold up well, although the hook & loop doesn’t eventually get full of fuzz & start to lose its grip. But even when they get grimy, they clean up really nice and don’t show wear too much – we’ve been able to pass old pairs on to younger friends & relatives and they still look great! I just wish Zappos had a better selection of sizes across all the different colors!

We looooove these shoes and buy them every year for all 4 of our boys. Sometimes it takes time to get the size right since there are no 1/2 sizes.

These are excellent shoes but they do seem to run a side large. Has to return the first pair ordered for a smaller size.

This style of Keen is made a little narrower which works since they don’t make 1/2 sizes for children. Love the construction and comfort
